Objectives
To provide knowledge based on the theories, principles and approach needed for those involved in care at the end of life, in different specialties and health care settings. The course will provide a broad coverage of wide ranging aspects from the global issues and concerns at end of life, to the care for physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of dying patients; to the challenging clinical and ethical dilemma associated with end of life situation, and to the service needs and gaps for future directions. The course will also cover the basic principles of communication and counseling with terminally ill patients, bereavement support for family and care for carers.
