Treatment of lupus nephritis using variours immunosuppressive regimens, immunology and immunogentics of glomerulonephritis, in particular lgA nephropathy, the optimal use of subcutaneous erythropoietin in dialysis patients in correction of anaemia, treatment of CAPD and transplant patients with dyslipidemia, treatment of CAPD peritonitis, the use of connectology in CAPD patients, rehabilitation status of dialysis patients. Another area of research has been on the biocompatibility of the current peritoneal dialysis solutions. Suppression of neutrophil superoxide anion formation, neutrophil oxygen consumption and intracellular pH are used to demonstrate the non-physiological aspect of different components of peritoneal dialysis solutions. Alternative components are currently sought and tested to improve the biocompatibiltiy of the solutions. The haemodynamics and urea kinetics of haemodialysis is also being studied, with the aim of improving the comfort, safely and adequacy of haemodialysis. |
