Research Interests:
1. Cardiac resynchronization therapy
2. Cutting-edge technology in the monitoring (e.g. intrathoracic impedance technology) or treatment (e.g. cardiac contractility modulation) of heart failure
3. New echocardiographic techniques for quantitative and qualitative assessment of cardiac function (e.g. Tissue Doppler Imaging & its post-processing imaging modalities, 2D strain, real-time 3D &4D Echocardiography, dyssynchrony imaging etc.)
4. Conducting cardiovascular clinical trials including multicenter studies (Include those for heart failure, hypertension, acute coronary syndrome, lipid-lowering, percutaneous coronary intervention, cardiac arrhythmia, pacing & related devices)
5. New indications and technologies in cardiac pacing arrhythmias management
6. Non-invasive cardiac imaging technologies for assessment of cardiovascular diseases, in particular cardiac magnetic resonance imaging
7. Assessment of atherosclerosis and prognostic markers in renal failure patients.
8. Hypertension studies: examination of contributing factors in Chinese including the role of genetic polymorphisms, treatment and surrogate end-points assessment including arterial wall stiffness and endothelial dysfunction
9. Atherosclerosis and arterial endothelial dysfunction including risk factors and the role of homocysteinaemia
10. Management of acute coronary syndromes including use of invasive assessment of coronary plaques and percutaneous coronary interventions
11. Coronary intervention with intravascular ultrasound quantification of plaque burden
