Welcome to the Asia Pacific Advanced Heart Failure Forum

Welcome! Following a successful inaugural Asia Pacific Advanced Heart Failure Forum (APAHFF) last year, we invite you to join us for the 2nd APAHFF on 16 November 2018 in Hong Kong.

We strive to create a well-balanced one-day programme by first gaining an appreciation from the Keynote Lecture the current status of ventricular assist device use in Asia, and looking into the future for what is to come over the next decade. The topic session then shifts gears to focus on the epidemiology and economics of heart failure, and heart failure programme administration. As outpatient management of advanced heart failure and end-of-life support for end-stage patients are increasingly recognised to be suboptimal and deficient, several pairs of concurrent sessions are devoted to discuss and explore the current status, innovations and management schemes. Equally important areas covered include cardiomyopathy, cardiogenic shock (particularly the concept of a Shock Team), surgery for heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, complications of assist devices and heart transplant, and pulmonary hypertension and right heart failure.

We have assembled a diverse expert faculty for APAHFF 2018 and believe the programme to be exciting, refreshing and informative for many, including frontline doctors, nurses and allied health professionals, administrators, healthcare executives, public health policymakers and researchers. We hope you find this event engaging and resourceful, and that you take advantage of the opportunity to acquire new skills and knowledge, and translate them into practice.

We look forward to seeing you at APAHFF 2018!
